D&G Scarf Style

I know I was supposed to do the Hijabi Bangladeshi Brides but I couldn't help myself but post these. The latest on the runway!!! D&G's Spring 2012 Collection is just wonderful. All the clothes *and shoes* and made from printed square scarves/hijabs. So creative, don't you think? CUTE AND CHIC!!! Take a peek

Aren't they just gorgeous? And the best thing is, you can hijabify almost every single one them!!!

If only they weren't designer clothes. I could afford them then. Well, maybe they'll be coming to the stores in a few months :)

Do you like these clothes? Or do you opt for a more solid look?

Random Post #2 Bagladeshi Brides Rocks

Well, I was feeling a bit ahem, patriotic yesterday so I thought I would do a post on Bangladeshi brides (Since I am Bangladeshi :)

A Bangladeshi wedding outfit usually consists of:

  • Tikli- This is a tick long decorated starmd of gold that covers the hairline, which is done in the middle of the head
  • Ghapta- A decorated gold piece of jewelry worn in the side of the head (the girl in the second pic is wearing this)
  • Taira- Colorful beads or so hanging or stuck on thick strans of gold which go from one side of the head to another and in the midde (Almost all the girls are wearing these. The first one is too)
  • Nak Ful- A huge circular decorative nose ring made of gold worn on the left nostril which is so heavy (it's solid gold people) it must be supported with the thick gold chain which is eventually connected to the hair  (Almost all the girls are wearing these. The first one is too)
  • Kaner Dul- Earrings. So big amd heavy your ear would fall off if you wore them just like that so they are connected to the hair with a thick strand of something, whether it be gold or not gold
  • SEVERAL THICK GIANT GOLD "NECKLACES"
  • Shari- The sari, or, the cloth that covers her body. it a piece of (about 6 yards) of richly (not to mention pricey) decorated  beautiful cloth which is systematically and elegantly rapped arounf the body
  • Orna- The dupatta, or the big long "scarf" which is half hanging on the head.
  • Churi/Bala- The series of gold bangles adorning the hands and arms
  • Ankti- The gold rings, adorning the fingers (and possibly feet)
  • Nupur- The gold anklets, adorning the feet
Sorry about the repetition of gold. But it's literally like that.
